Mumbai Water Cut: Several parts across Mumbai will face a day-long water cut this week, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced on Tuesday. The Mumbai civic body officials will be carrying out major water pipeline connection work in the K/East, H/East and G/North wards, leading to major water cuts across Mumbai.

Due to this work, the water supply will be completely shut off in several areas, while some parts of the K/East ward will receive a low-pressure supply.

K/East Ward

Why Water Cut is Essential in Mumbai

The work includes linking major pipelines, including the 1800 mm Tansa West main, the 1200 mm line, the 2400 mm Vaitarna main, and a 1500 mm main in the G/North ward. According to the BMC, the shutdown is essential to facilitate a smoother and more reliable water supply in the future.

Mumbai Water Cut: Advisory for Residents

The BMC has advised the residents of affected areas to store sufficient water in advance for this period. Moreover, they have also urged to use water cautiously on the mentioned dates and cooperate with the maintenance work.

The water supply is expected to be restored within 24 hours. The BMC's proactive measures are aimed at ensuring a steady and reliable water supply in the future, minimising the impact of such disruptions. Residents are encouraged to cooperate with the authorities during these essential repair operations.
