AIR FORCE JET CRASHES NEAR TAMBARAM IN CHENNAI, PILOT EJECTS SAFELY

An Indian Air Force (IAF) Pilatus PC-7 basic trainer aircraft crashed near Tambaram in Chennai on Friday during a routine training mission. The pilot managed to eject safely before the aircraft went down around 2 pm.

According to the Indian Air Force, the PC-7 was on a standard training exercise when it crashed in the vicinity of the Tambaram air base. The IAF confirmed that the pilot escaped without injury.

The Air Force has ordered a Court of Inquiry (CoI) to determine the cause of the crash.
