CHHAAVA BOX OFFICE DAY 1: VICKY KAUSHAL'S FILM BEATS SKY FORCE, EARNS RS31 CRORE

Chhaava Box Office Collection Day 1: Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava finally hit theatres on Friday, February 14 and impressed the audiences. It has now been reported that the film also broke records on its opening day. As reported by Sacnilk, Chhaava earned Rs 31 crore (nett) on its opening day.

Reportedly, the film saw an overall occupancy of 35.17 per cent in Hindi on the opening day. While the morning shows registered 30.51 per cent footfall, it increased to 34.50 per cent and 40.51 during the afternoon and the evening, respectively.

With this, Chhaava has become Vicky Kaushal’s biggest opener ever. It has also surpassed Kaushal’s hit movie, Uri: The Surgical Strike, which had earned Rs 8.20 crore on its first day. Besides this, Chhaava has also become biggest opener of 2025 as well. It has also surpassed Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force, which collected Rs 15.30 crore at the box office on its opening day.

Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Chhaava is a historical drama that revolves around the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. In the film, Vicky Kaushal portrays the character of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the Maratha empire’s founder. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta in key roles.

News18 Showsha gave the film a 3.5-star rating. “The film, produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films, has managed to capture the essence of who Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was and why people across the world need to know of his legacy,” a part of our review read.

While Chhaava is currently in theatres, if a report by OTTplay is to be believed, the film is expected to premiere on Netflix after completing its time in cinemas. However, unlike many recent releases where streaming partnerships are announced in advance, the makers of Chhaava have kept details under wraps. Typically, films land on streaming platforms 45–60 days post-release, but an official update from the team is still awaited.
